Messenger Bot Marketing isn't a marketing strategy you want to dive in the deep end without a bit of knowledge. Before you can launch a successful Messenger bot campaign you must understand the WHY.

When I first heard about and experienced Messenger marketing I wasn't impressed. I wrinkled my nose, raised my eyebrow, and brushed it off as another "shiny object". Well, wasn't I proven wrong?!

Facebook Messenger Growth

According to Tech Crunch, more than 1.3 billion people around the world now use Messenger every month!

If you are a brand or business owner, not having a Messenger presence is like turning your open sign on but keeping the door locked. Your customers can see your website, Facebook Page, but when they want to open the door to shop you aren't there.

The top four messaging apps — Facebook's Messenger, WhatsApp, WeChat, and Viber — now claim nearly 3 billion monthly active users combined, narrowly outnumbering the combined active users on the world's four largest social networks, including Facebook. - BI Intelligence

I will go out on a limb and say 99% of you reading this have gone to Facebook to further research a business or pr0duct you were thinking of working with. You aren't alone, 1 billion users visit Facebook Pages every month looking for more information from businesses.

I wouldn't be surprised in the next 5, 10, years that phone numbers will no longer be needed, we will all be on messaging apps! Facebook recently stated that 56% of users would rather chat with a customer service agent than pick up the phone. 1 in 2 people said they are more likely to shop with a business they can message!

Are you seeing these stats? This is only going to continue to grow!

Why You Should Be Using Facebook Messenger

Facebook has started to monetize the Messenger platform with ads. This opens a whole other world of opportunity when the feeds have become so noisy.

Facebook has stated they do not plan to take a cut of the commerce activity that has started to take place through Facebook Messenger, they plan to keep their revenue strategy as is through the advertising platform. Connecting a third party payment collection tool such as Paypal won't cost you anything extra but provides a great convenience to your customers.

The value of Messenger is that users are already using it to chat with their friends, as business owners you can tap into the platform and start a conversation with much less friction than any other available avenue at this time.

Messenger marketing has a HUGE potential to transform your customer journey. You can now take your customers through your entire customer journey right within a platform they are already using. No additional landing page, no emails, it can all be done right inside of Messenger.

What Kind Of Businesses Should Use Facebook Messenger

If you are a business you should be using Messenger. Simply stated.

You don't have to have a tech audience, a "modern" audience, a young audience. Think about the demographics on Facebook. It isn't just tech, young, and modern people.

Messenger is all about entering the conversation where your audience is already having their conversations and it isn't only the hip and modern crowd. How many of you have chatted with some over the age of 60, 70, 80, or even 90 on Facebook Messenger? Exactly!

This post isn't about the how but my goal today is all about showing you WHY you must start looking into how you can implement Facebook Messenger into your business, no matter the type of business you have. If you want to grow you need a Messenger marketing plan.
